This represents a day and a half of work - digging, measuring, raking and marking the foundation of the path. The gray bucket has Class V material, which technically is gray dirt that stabilizes the foundation so it won't settle (much).
The longest part was getting a good start so the pavers were flush with the sidewalk. God help the city inspector who looks at our walkway and says it needs to be redone. Seriously I'd club him and bury him in the garden that I someday hope to create. Anyway, after a dozen or so paver rows we were like, "whatever - I'm tired," and started throwing Class V down willynilly and slapping pavers on top. But it still ended up looking awesome.
See?
